Easing Consumers’ Crib Concerns

By Mike Rozembajgier
I had the pleasure of appearing on Fox & Friends this morning to discuss the latest news regarding the Storkcraft recall of more than 2.1 million cribs. Host Alisyn Camerota and I discussed not only the safety concerns for parents, but the important steps a company needs to take during a recall crisis.
At times like these, parents must be vigilant in making sure that their child’s crib is not an affected product, and companies must stand ready to respond to a flood of calls, emails, and website visits from parents concerned for their children as well as retailers who need to know how to respond.
Storkcraft is no longer just in the crib business – it is in the child safety business. The company is indeed taking the right steps by issuing the recall. Now, Storkcraft must ensure every phone call is answered, repair kits are distributed efficiently, and every step is documented so that both families and the company can quickly move past this recall.

Unfortunately this is the second problem I have encountered with my daughters crib. In early 2009 the mattress brackets had to be replaced now once again the crib isnt safe. Should I have any more children I will not purchase a Storkcraft crib.
