Recall Management an Integral Part of Product Safety Education

We often talk about what it takes to be prepared for a recall. Keeping up with changes in federal regulations, developing a recall plan, and routinely testing your product to make sure it meets federal standards are basic steps you can take to avoid a recall. What else is necessary to know you are taking the right steps and implementing the right policies and procedures for your company? Rest assured. There are several ways to educate yourself and your company about product safety risks, including recalls.
There are expert recall specialists who offer recall planning and consulting services, logistics services and turn-key solutions to help your company get ready for recalls and any other product safety risk you may face. Trade associations and industry groups also regularly offer their members valuable resources and counsel about product safety issues such as new regulations and industry standards. And there are still other resources you can take advantage of when considering product safety risks and recall preparedness.
There is even a product safety certificate program that can offer your product safety professionals continuing education on the most important product safety issues from experienced professionals throughout the industry. Just as you should expect your legal counsel to take CLE courses in order to stay current in their field, your risk managers should take advantage of relevant webinars and education sessions in order to stay on top of their game.
The Certificate in Product Safety Management is now being offered by the Center for Supply Chain Management Studies at Saint Louis University (SLU). The goal of the certificate program is to assist safety professionals in the development of tools and techniques to improve their ability to support their companies on product safety risks.
